Book Title: A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder
Author: Holly Jackson
Rating: 4 stars = Really Good
Review:
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is a mystery book for young adults. It’s about Pippa Fitz-Amobi, a high school student. She starts investigating a murder case that happened five years ago in her small town. The case is closed, and everyone thinks Andie Bell’s boyfriend, Sal Singh, killed her. But Pippa isn’t sure if he’s the real killer. She teams up with Sal’s brother, Ravi Singh, to find the truth. They face a challenge convincing their town that Sal might not be the murderer.
The book is well written, and it’s like you’re solving the mystery along with Pippa and Ravi. The story is told through interviews, articles, and reports. As you read, you discover new details about the case, and it’s exciting. Many questions arise, like who the real killer is and if Andie might still be alive. The plot has great twists and suspense. It’s thrilling to think that the killer might be someone close to Pippa or Ravi.
The book also addresses important topics like racial discrimination, difficult family relationships, drug use, and sexual assault. These issues are explained in a thoughtful and realistic way.
I really enjoyed reading this book, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well it was written.
